Examples include, antireflection coatings for wavelengths from 193 nm to 10 µm; mirror coatings for color-neutral front and rear surface mirrors; edge and bandpass filter coatings with steep slopes, high transmission and good blocking efficiency; and coatings for cemented and non-cemented beam splitters configured as color-neutral or polarization splitters, or with various phase shifts.
Our modern high-vacuum systems involve the use of ions in coating components with up to 50 layers per surface area, extremely homogenous with thicknesses ranging from a few nanometers to several micrometers at a tolerance of only a few nm.
