Quality standards for lenses and other optical components
Lenses
- diameters of 1.5 to 100 mm
- radii from 70 µm
- centering accurate to the nearest 0.5 µm
- surface matching up to λ/30
Optical systems
- maximum apertures up to bis 1.46
- Strehl values up to 99%
- optical resolutions up to 60 nm
Prisms, mirrors, flats
- angles accurate to an angle of 1 arcsec
Polarization filters
- deflection distortion reduced to under 10 arcsec
We aim to utilize the performance of each individual component in the finished system to its best advantage. That’s why the optical components in complex sub-assemblies are centered with high precision at the LOC.
